A. The Girl Scouts Project
This project is ongoing with The Girl Scouts of the San Jacinto Council of Texas, a 55,000 member organization. An article on Scouts making our Learning Boards, which are small chalkboards for students with no access to paper or pencils, will appear in the Girl Scout's January magazine along with an appeal for more volunteers. We handed out thousands of flyers and gave demonstrations at the Scout Sing-A-Long for 10,000 Girl Scouts from several states.

B. The Delta Kappa Gamma Society Project
A Texas chapter of this honorary, international teacher/retired teacher society has decided to support our educational expansion by making Learning Boards and supplying socks and chalk for their 2003 project.

C. The School Chests Projects
Our school chests project was completed this year when our donation of a full set of school supplies for hundreds of students was shipped to Afghanistan. Most of these children have never known what it is to color a picture. Mounds of pencils, chalk, crayons, etc., were collected, along with funding, by elementary schools, a unique high school senior and many individual volunteers. The Red Cross took our collections to ship for us. We anticipate at least one large drive for school supplies in Spring, 2003. The University of Houston Alumni Association, Girls Scouts of San Jacinto Council, and other groups are already committed to this 2003 drive.

D. The Library Project
We are stocking our library with donations of good quality used books, hardback or paperback, for sending overseas or for reselling. Overseas-designated books will be screened first by our committee of professors and teachers, then approved by recipient country officials before shipment. The rest will be sold to pay shipping costs.

E. The Relocation Project
Our new headquarters is open for business. The donated office space in a bank building is spacious and pleasant, giving us room to expand operations in a big way, starting with our Library Project.

F. The English As A Foreign Language Research Project
WWW UNITED has been requested to research and establish an EFL program in Vietnam. This need exists in many areas of the world. We are working with schools, colleges, and organizations to be more resourceful to incorporate more students for less funds without sacrificing acceptable effectiveness. This effort could be very important for helping people and nations become more self-sustaining. What’s more, a common language should make it possible for an increase in intercultural exchange and intercultural respect, and that should lead to better business dealings worldwide.

G. The Vietnam Research Project
A WWW UNITED team is going to Vietnam to look at ways it can help with that country's English instruction system. The team will also talk with officials about other ways in which it might be of assistance in the educational arena and at potential manufacturing possibilities for future WWW UNITED educational products.

H. The Distance Learning Research Project
Research is ongoing at WWW UNITED into methods for teaching large numbers of students worldwide, especially those currently receiving little or no education. One possibility is teaching via satellite, radio or television where there is a great shortage of teachers. WWW UNITED is investigating ways to manufacture one such radio at reasonable cost so it could be disseminated on a large scale.

I. The Pen Pals/Essay Project
The Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council in Texas have agreed to work with us on a combination Pen Pals and Essay project beginning next year. This enhanced Pen Pals campaign will include study and essays to help Scouts research their Pen Pal’s life, home, and country. Planned prizes for efforts include meeting Pen Pals and various celebrities.

J. The Sock and Chalk Project
Various groups (mothers, Girl Scouts, teachers, etc.) have committed to hold drives to collect white crew socks (Men’s Medium Cotton) or white chalk to be used with Learning Boards. Socks will be used as erasers and chalk holders in our modern version of the pioneer’s slate system. Chalk is used with these small individual chalkboards which are provided for students who have difficulty obtaining pencils or paper. Let us know if you are interested in helping by sending an email to the website.

K. The Can-Do Cans Project
This project provides a way for general donations to help educate a child who is not currently being educated. Even a child can collect empty soda cans to donate. It has already begun on a word-of-mouth basis. We will begin the project on a large-scale in the coming months. Not only are we using the waste in the United States for a most worthy cause, but also our children learn the value of recycling and helping those less fortunate. For many, it will be an awakening to the fact that education is not something to take for granted. Start saving your empty cans now, but please rinse them out first. Look for more information in a few weeks on our website.

L. There are other exciting projects in the works for the future. Stay tuned!
Finally, let us hear of your great ideas! Give us your wisdom through your ideas because one of the goals of WWW UNITED is to gather the wisdom of people everywhere to solve this challenge in distribution of basic education. It can be done.

That is why we were given brains, to use them to solve challenges which then can turn challenges into opportunities. Furthermore, if we in the wealthiest country cannot help, who can?

WE CAN, that’s who can! Come on, Team America, Let’s Get Going! A little from a lot becomes a lot.
