WWW United, Inc. quickly added a new, comprehensive drive to help the Katrina Disaster Victims here in the Houston area.  We made contact and partnered with the following organizations:  the Sterling Bank System, University of Houston Library and Alumni Organization, and Jamail Construction Company.  The first three will be collection points for the following items, Used or new books, dominoes, playing cards, and stuffed toys (new please).  Also, Sterling Bank is providing storage and sorting areas for our volunteers.

WWW United will be responsible for collecting, repacking, and distributing these to the Katrina victims, with the help of Jamail Construction Company.  Within one week, the first deliveries were made to the Reliant Park-Astrodome area and the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.  As many as possible will be made there, and then we will finish by distributing to smaller shelters as the people are moved into new locales.

Lately, we are partnering with the Girl Scouts here, and from Georgia, they are sending a trailer of Stuffed animals. Also, a Book Club at the University of Richmond is working on a Book Drive to send to us soon for the Evacuees.  This is great!  "United we stand; divided we fall," in our view.
