As one year winds down and another begins for WWW UNITED, there has been rapid progress at our new Houston, Texas, headquarters. We are in our spacious donated offices in a multi-story bank building on Interstate 45, near the University of Houston and downtown Houston, Texas.

We are thrilled with this donation and the progress. Now we have room for work parties, conferences, volunteers, council meetings, and other activities.

The highlights of this year:

1) Our first completed project this past spring sent collected school supplies, via the Red Cross, to a sizable number of students in Afghanistan. It was an amazing quickstep effort by many volunteers including several elementary schools, a university alumni group, and a basketball team.

2) Donated books are filling our library and we are getting many commitments for more donations to send overseas or resell. We will send the best books, those acceptable to other cultures. Then people will be invited to purchase the others at discounted prices or to exchange books for a small fee.

3) We just completed our second biggest project, the Girl Scouts 90th Birthday Party for several states. We had a fantastic demonstration booth and flyers for the expected 10,000 girls attending, asking them to make more of our Learning Boards for needy students worldwide.

The Learning Boards are our latest effort to help bring a shift in the way we all educate, so larger percentages of the world will become literate and have a chance to go beyond basic education. These small personal blackboards with attached eraser and chalk can substitute for paper and pencil where those are not obtainable. An honorary teacher society is also making these. We believe this project will go to the international level of participation from many organizations.

Our President’s Advisory Council is a stellar group, better than we ever imagined already. These folks are now doing research and seeking funds for marketing our ideals, ideas and achievements.

We are full of enthusiasm, even more as the busy days go by. We all work our hearts out, and we have taken no salary. It is truly a labor of love. And, we will help educate the part of the world that would not have been educated, giving more people a chance to be self-sufficient, productive, and happy.

We are the Win, Win, Win organization. Lighting Lamps for Education Worldwide is our mission, and also our joy! We believe wholeheartedly we are doing our part to help students, and also to help cultures better survive and better understand one another. We envision this will almost certainly help prevent some future conflict and destruction.
